In the first class on the afternoon of 2nd November, at the merging classroom, teacher Cao Xin with Junior High Section’s Chinese Department of Anqing Foreign Language School’s east campus presented a demonstration lesson. In attendance were Principal Wen Zhixin from Yuexi Paradise Junior High School, Headmaster Jia Chengzhi with Yuexi Huangmei Central School, Schoolmaster Xu Xuchang with Anqing Foreign Language School in addition to all Chinese teachers from Anqing Foreign Language School’s Junior High Division of both the east and west campuses. The classroom teaching evaluation activities were conducted afterwards.
First of all, the content of teacher Cao Xin ’s public class was centered on a lesson entitled ‘Aspirations’ in Grade Nine’s novel unit. She adopted the method of multimedia instruction as well as combined the key and difficult points in teaching with teacher-student interaction and panel discussion, which brought us a splendid demonstration lesson.
Second of all, teacher Cao Xin ’s teaching manner was natural and approachable. Besides, her teaching thoughts were progressive and ripe, which perfectly completed the pre-set teaching objectives. Moreover, the recitation process fully aroused students’ initiative. Therefore, the classroom atmosphere was active and left a deep impression on the teachers present.
Third of all, during the classroom teaching evaluation session, Anqing Foreign Language School’s Principal Xu Xuchang and all the Chinese teachers from both the east and west campuses highly affirmed teacher Cao Xin ’s open class. Meanwhile, teachers raised some suggestions, discussed a few issues and analyzed the relevant causes at great length, which solved these problems.
In brief, the teaching and research activities not only constructed a favorable exchange platform for teachers from both the east and west campuses, enhanced their teaching quality, but also accelerated Anqing Foreign Language School’s education development.
